First marriage on 9 July, 1895 to Maria Konstantinovna Rachinskaya (born on 29 September, 1865, died on 2 July, 1900 in England. Buried in the village of Tatevo, Belsky district, Smolensk gubernia, now Oleninsky district, Tver Region).

Second marriage on 30 June, 1906 to Maria Niko-layevna Zubova (born on 5 August, 1868, died on 22 June, 1939 in Moscow. Buried in Vvedenskoye cemetery in Moscow).

Composer, music critic and memoirist. Pseudonym S.Brodinsky. Author of the memoirs “Ocherki bylogo”, 4th ed., Tula, 1975.
